EXTRA CREDIT - Watershed Clean Up, Maker's Faire, and Flying Car Competition.

Replanting Alpine's Watershed: Volunteer Event
Saturday, December 7 // 10am-12noon

Join BCLT and the Alpine community as we begin the restoration of 16 acres of native creekside habitat along Alpine Boulevard. Located west of Tavern Road, between the Rite-Aid & Casino Inn, BCLT is working in partnership with private landowners to replant & restore this important riparian habitat along Alpine Creek.

Group will park & meet at Joan MacQueen Middle Schoool - 2001 Tavern Road - and shuttle to project site from there. (Parking also available curbside along Alpine Blvd, near Rite-Aid.)

What to bring: Long pants & sleeves, work gloves, and water. All tools will be provided by BCLT.

Check out this competition through the Air and Space Museum.  There is some big bucks for the winner, but regardless of how you do, I'll give you extra credit.

Homework - Week Twelve

11/18/2013

Weird schedule...

1st time I see you: We started our poster project today to practice our vocabulary.  Tonight you need to find a science article that has at least three of the force and motion terms that we have been studying.  Glue this in on the right hand side of the next entry.  On the left hand side of entry I want you to do a "one-page summary" strategy to process this article.

2nd time I see you:  Go home and think about force and motion at thanksgiving!   ...if you want to get ahead in class you could do the extra credit lab of the month!

Homework - Week Eleven

11/12/2013

T/W: We did it all in class today, graphing, graphing, graphing!  Tonight you MUST get a final draft bar graph of your force data, and a final draft line graph for your motion test and actual data.

CAN DRIVE HAS BEGUN!!!  Bring in canned and boxed foods (non-perishable)
for those who have less than you!

Th/F: Complete your conclusion tonight.  The finished draft of your lab report is due on Monday!!!

For those of you who were out on Friday and didn't get the in-class handouts.  They are below...

Homework - Week Ten - Second Quarter Begins

11/5/2013

M/T: Tonight I need you to make your raw data tables.  I walked through each part with you, you just need to make it look good in preparation for our final data collection (actual competition) on Wednesday/Thursday!!!  The next time I see you is the actual competition so be sure that your car is ready!  This means have fresh batteries, all work is complete, and you are well prepared to drive!

Hey HOMEROOM, How about turning in  your Parent Conference slip?!

W/Th: SO MUCH FUN COMPETING!!!  Tonight I need you to have every piece of the lab write up final copy!  I also need you to make a double bar graph of the data that you collected on force.   Friday we start talking about line graphing for the other data.

F:  You need to complete your double line graphs.  One line will be for the test and the second line will be the actual data from the competition.  The two graphs you should have are a bar graph of the force, and a line graph of the instantaneous times on the obstacle course.
