M/T: Today was the Family Life preview for your parents, you should now have no reason not to get the permission slip in. Remember, regardless of whether it is a "yes" or a "no" I need it in. In addition, if you haven't had your parent score, comment, and sign your parent input sheet in the back of your science notebook, please get that done. Lastly, you started your Acidic Oceans article in class. You are to process the information by either doing Read and Recall (odd seats), or Get Curious and Ask Questions (even seats), both of which can be found in your reference pages in your science notebook. W/Th: Last chance to get your parent input page, and Family Life permission slip in! F: Enjoy Easter!
M/T: With the funky disruption last Friday we've needed to rearrange everything! So, tonight I need you to finish the balancing equations sheet. If you are struggling you should at least be able to identify whether or not an equation is balance. Also, if you want to participate in the upcoming pHear pHactor game you must have a signed letter from your parents saying that you have no food allergies. Lastly, Wednesday or Thursday is our new class Tie-Dye Day for us to take pictures of your shirts! W/Th: Tonight I want you to : 1) get your Parent Input page filled out by your parents. It's that chart in the back of your notebook. Lost it? Go to the Class Information page to download another. You should also get the parent permission slip for the Values and Choices program signed at the same time. 2) Identify the trends in the solutions we tested today. In other words, what are the common characteristics of those solutions underlined in red? In blue? green? 3) Lastly, you will be doing another lab so I need you to bring in 3 solutions for testing on Friday. F: Did you get the Parent Input page filled out? Family Life letter signed?
M/T: Finish the entry that you started today in class if you haven't already finished it. I hope tie-dying was fun, but remember that the project (your shirt) isn't complete yet, so follow the instructions on the project page to complete you shirt so you can wear it on tie-dye day next week! W/Th: Tonight I want you to finish your balancing equations worksheet if it was not completed in class. NOTE: because we didn't get as far as I expected, I want you to only complete the front side (up to 12). Don't forget that you can only manipulate the coefficient (look at counting atoms for help too). Also, should you be redoing your flip book? Some ugly ones out there! TYE-DYE DAY IS THIS FRIDAY!!! WEAR YOUR SHIRT! F: Thoroughly go over the Alien Periodic Table study guide! ...the file is "chem planet dog prep" below. If you are redoing your flip book it will be due on Monday/Tuesday.
M/T: You need to complete your bonding flip book. Tonight you only really need to get the penciling completed. Pencil first and then color! It's all due Friday.
W/Th: You need to complete your bonding flip book. Remember, to get to a 5 you need to have both types of bonding represented and it has to be clear and creative. You should be finishing this tonight. It's all due Friday. NOTE: Granite Hills STING is coming on the 22nd!!! : A super fun experience where students teach students! CHECK IT OUT! F: Tie-Dye next week! Wear grubby clothes, bring a pre-washed cotton tee shirt, rubber bands, TWO sealable plastic bags, and your notebook. M/T: You witnessed the "Evil Sausage" demonstration today and learned about the five major characteristics of chemical reactions. Using this new knowledge I need you to find a recipe for your favorite food and to identify where the chemical reactions traits can be found in it's preparation. This goes in the remaining space on the left page.
W/Th: Today you did the "Rainbow Milk" lab. Your goal is to identify whether or not this is a chemical reaction. use your notes from last time to take a stand, tell your parents and see what they think, and finally, allow them to comment and sign on the left page where you wrote your ideas. F: For a project we'll do next week I need you to come prepared with about 50-100 3X5 cards. You only technically need a minimum of 30, but you'll make mistakes and maybe lend some to those who didn't bring any. |
