Monday/Tuesday: Wednesday (or Thursday) you'll be taking a test! Go over the study guide I've given you, write any notes you want on the entries we've already made (it is open notebook), and then get quizzed and signed by your parent. That's it!
NOTE: If you didn't do so well on the density column, do the extra credit lab of the month. You can find it at "the Caboose" on this site. Also, if you bombed the individual density test, feel free to watch the tutorial videos on "the Resources" page on this site and arrange a time to come and try again.
Wednesday/Thursday: Tonight you are going to want to find any article from the internet, newspaper, magazine, etc. that deals with the concept of density. It doesn't have to use the word "density" it just has to have something to do with the concept. Like last year, someone picked up an article about the growing population in New York city. Get it? ...no, you can't do "the growing population in New York city." :) When you have your article, glue it in on the right side of a new entry (it should be entry five) and then do the reading strategy "One Page Summary, no more, no less" (you can find this in your reference pages) on the left side.
Friday: This weekend I want you to watch the video at the Kahn Academy (go to the online tools page) that is on star formation. It's actually called "Birth of Stars". You can find it at http://www.khanacademy.org/video/birth-of-stars?playlist=Cosmology+and+Astronomy . On a separate sheet of paper tell me what the video has to do with density. Use Costa's Levels of questions to develop a level 1, 2, and 3 question for Monday along with your explanation.
