Overall Performance Ratio (OPR)

10/28/2011

Can you explain to someone who doesn't really understand the Overall Performance Ratio (OPR) what it means and why both points and mass are so important in this engineering contest?

Building Your Own...

10/27/2011

You've all now had a role in constructing a planetary explore and to compete in each of the events.  In your opinion, what are the three most important things that a future student should know about building theirs?  Don't forget to tell them "WHY" these points are so important.

Planetary Explorers...

10/17/2011

You are about to start an engineering project that requires you to complete tasks as efficiently as possible.  Many space organizations, like NASA, have been doing this for a while.  Look up one probe that is currently studying our solar system, and tell us about it here.   Can you also add a link to its official web site?

Density in Our Universe

10/10/2011

Last week and this one we're taking about the role of density in our world, and our universe!  We mentioned density in the formation and structure of solar systems, galaxies, and even the expansion of the universe.  What are some other areas of our world/universe that we can see the affects or structure of density?

Density Column Troubles...

10/4/2011

Some people seem to have done a good job of making both their density column and their calculations, but the column and calcs didn't match!!!   How can that be?  Where could they have gone wrong on the density calculations?  How could the column turn out differently than what they calculated?
