Solutions...

3/25/2012

Most people are aware that using the terms acids and bases are a common ways to describe solutions, but there are other qualities that can describe solutions as well.  Do a little bit of research and explain to us other general ways to describe solutions.

Acids and Bases...

3/19/2012

Take a look around on the internet and give me some of YOUR explanations of what an acid and a base is.  ZERO credit if you just post someone else's work here.  Read, interpret, and write in your own words.  I'd really like to hear about what kid of ions are involved.

Atomic Bonding

3/12/2012

When atoms bond, or come together to form molecules, it's all about electrons.  This week see if you can come up with atoms that will bond with each other in perfect pairs.  In other words, which one atom will combine with another one atom.
You need to know the material on Wednesday/Thursday to answer the question so sit tight.

Chemical Reactions Around the World!

3/5/2012

This week I want you to find an internet news article that demonstrates a chemical reaction in the news.  I'm not talking about looking up some chemistry article; I'm talking about looking up any article that you knows demonstrates a reaction.  Then...

1) Post the URL of your article
2) Explain where the reactions is
3) Explain what traits the reaction has that make you pretty sure it is one.

OR ... You can read what others put up and find another reaction in the SAME article they posted. Yes you need to explain it.

    This blog is for you...

Feel free to share some curious train of thought you have, as well as share your thoughts on others.

If you want the extra credit points you need to participate in the most recent blog discussion.  Previous discussions will not count, ... in general.
